SUMMARY In coordination with the HRIS Architect, the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Business Analyst reviews, analyzes, and evaluates functional requirements and advises on possible solutions .
The analyst will lead requirements-gathering sessions, translate business requirements into technical system specifications, and serves as the liaison between Human Resources client stakeholders and the technical project team.
In addition, the Business Analyst, in coordination with the HRIS Architect, assists in managing certain software changes and provides guidance to organizational leadership related to best practices and optimization of our Workday HRIS system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include the following .

Creates comprehensive requirements documents outlining the desired functional state.
Provides analysis and documentation while considering the system implications of the change requested to the current and future business environment.
Reviews and assesses functional problems .
In coordination with the HRIS Architect proposes technical solutions.
Provides recommendations on the development and implementation of strategies to manage and reduce program/project risks.
Effectively communicates detailed requirements specifications, both verbally and in writing, to all project team members, client stakeholders, and senior management.
Formulates and defines project scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of the applicable business system and industry best practices.
Develops user manuals, training, and promotional materials as needed.
Performs quality assurance reviews of existing architecture documentation.
Performs analysis, development, and testing to meet functional reporting requests.
Performs analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications.
Completes user interface documentation, including screenshots, walkthroughs, workflows, uniformly structured use cases and supplementary specifications .
Demonstrates flexibility to support emerging program needs and priorities.
Serves as lead analyst on issues when directed.
Leads and participates in design and planning meetings.
Utilizes tool specific expertise to recommend solutions to solve business issues.
Provides initial troubleshooting of incidents reported by functional users and escalates appropriately.
Acts as a resource in the interpretation and use of data generated and utilized by users.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers.
Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources.
Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.
CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES Previous experience in Human Resources or in IT supporting the Human Resources Department is required .
Knowledgeable in the analysis of HRIS business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications .
Previous Workday experience as a user or technical support person is preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of HRIS security and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) best practices for dealing with Personal Health Information and personally identifiable information .
Demonstrated ability to develop and apply comprehensive solutions to user requirements / issues and to elicit user preferences around specific interface behaviors and related functionality .
