We are currently looking for a Full Time Public Health Data Analyst to join our Area of Research and Public Health team located at the Apila Center working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.
Summary: Supports the work of the data infrastructure development for the public health division, supporting the data modernization initiative with the Chickasaw Nation (CN).
Uses knowledge of data and data systems software to collect, analyze and interpret data that will help guide decisions for programming and strategic planning for health improvement within the CN Department of Health.
Responsibilities: * Collaborates with the Division of Research and Public Health’s Epidemiology Team and CNDH Health IT (EPIC) team to establish and maintain standard work procedures governing the appropriate use of data for public health surveillance and public health/population health program evaluation activities * Collaborates with the Division of Research and Public Health’s Epidemiology Team to develop an internal data stewardship protocol and training module for other Division staff * Creates and maintains high-quality documentation that describes in detail the specifications, design, and implementation of each analytics solution, particularly those created to support efficient data acquisition, aggregation, and analysis * Acquires data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems * Collects, queries, interprets and analyzes data using standard statistical tools, applications, methods, and techniques * Cleans and filters data to discard irrelevant information; assess data quality * Conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis in support of population health, public health surveillance, and quality measurement * Conducts statistical analyses of public health surveillance data using appropriate analytical methods to assist in the identification of disease outbreaks or public health trends * Formats data, and develops charts, tables, and other related documents and graphics to be used for reporting purposes * Assists with preparation of comprehensive written reports through presentations of charts based on research and analysis of data that can be tailored for various audiences * Supports the dissemination and interpretation of clinical, population health, and public health analyses, metrics and reports the appropriate audience * Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types - Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner - Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made - Greets and engages with a smile - Determines and meets needs - Seeks positive experience and outcomes * Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities * Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types - Shares responsibilities for maintaining adequate supplies and equipment - Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment - Observes and addresses potential environmental hazards and risks - Maintains and promotes professionalism - Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics - Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards - May provide break coverage for others as assigned - May augment staff in other areas as needed based on staffing and needs ratio in regularly assigned unit * Maintain knowledge of and follow all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.

* Proficiency in tools and technologies used in analytics or business intelligence (BI) such as SAS, SSRS, Cognos, Tableau, Arteryx, * Intermediate skill using Microsoft Office products Experience: Essential: * 1 year directly related experience Education: Essential: * Bachelors Degree in directly related field Essential: * Bachelor’s degree in Biostatistics, Data Science, Epidemiology, Statistics, Health Informatics, Public Health, or related field and one (1) year of data management and analysis experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources and the Division of Research and Public Health Hiring Manager Credentials: Essential: * Standard Driver's License * Pass general background check Working Conditions: Essential: * Mix of office/non-office settings * Sitting up to 100% of shift * Standing up to 25% of shift * Walk up to 25% of shift * Repetitive motions * Visual acuity for detail, distance, color, depth perception * Requires driving * Travel is primarily within Chickasaw Nation boundaries * Pass pre-employment drug test
