To further this mission, we are looking for a Senior Capital Project ManagerTechnical Review Engineer.
This position serves as project manager for capital improvement projects, acts as the department expert on matters within their engineering discipline, provides engineering subject matter support to all projects managed by A&E Services, and reviews professional consultant prepared drawings, specifications, and submittals within their area of expertise.

Manage capital projects, including various meetings with a variety of constituencies, including users, consultants, contractors, University administration and other departments; and translating project requirements into architectural/engineering design program.
Support capital projects by acting as the department expert on matters within your engineering discipline.
Prepare progress reports and communicates project status to university entities and with external parties (vendors, contractors, consultants, etc.
).
Develop and monitors project budgets; and reviews and approves project expenditures.
Administer consultant and construction contracts; administers construction project procedures and conducts formal bid openings.
Evaluate drawings, specifications, and other documentation to ensure that projects comply with university standards and requirements.
Perform onsite capital project construction administration, including participating in regular progress meetings and special meetings, and monitoring contractor work for conformance with construction contract requirements.
Applies related professional skills and knowledge during construction.
Perform inoffice construction administration, advising contractors, project architects, or engineers, and University officials regarding project quality and schedule.
Coordinates with other University departments and other project personnel; reviewing contractor submittals.
Responds to requests for information and other inquiries.
Participate in providing input and updating the related engineering discipline specific requirements in the OU Standards.
Coordinate work with local, state, and federal agencies involved in the University’s construction program.
Secures and maintains required discipline license including any continued education criterion.
Perform various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Job Requirements Required Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related professional track degree AND: 60 months progressively responsible professional experience in commercial or institutional design and construction.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 60 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 108 months of related experience.
Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills Able to read, interpret, and evaluate construction drawings and specifications Ability to coordinate and organize goals and efforts of multiple constituencies Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Certifications: Valid Driver’s License Licensed to practice Engineering in Oklahoma; or hold professional license in another state and be eligible to obtain license to practice in the State of Oklahoma; or obtain professional license within one year of employment.

Departmental Preferences: 5 to 10 years relevant postgraduation experience in commercial/institutional construction administration.
5 to 10 years relevant postgraduation experience in architectural or engineering project management.
Prefer experience as a project manager on major capital projects of $25 Million or higher.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam & PlanGrid Prefer experience focused upon Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Prefer experience with specialized standards and codes related to design & construction in the engineering discipline of expertise Prefer onsite experience at major construction sites with familiarity of building systems including foundations, structures, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
