MSA Globe Manufacturing in Ada, Oklahoma is now hiring Production Workers to perform sewing and non-sewing operations at our manufacturing plant as we convert specialty cut fabric into high quality turnout gear.
Production Workers will learn stitching operations and may learn jobs in other areas:
Stitching (Sewing Operators)
Utilize a variety of industrial single needle, double needle and programmable machines to stitch one of over 100 operations needed to complete the turnout gear shell or liner.
Every operator is responsible for the quality of their work and is expected to support their departmental team by learning at least two additional operations.
Machine Operator roles (Snapping, Seam Seal, Automated Stitching, Trim, Cutting)
Cutting fabric into pieces using a Gerber Cutter
Ability to use and understand a ruler and measurements
Material preparation, Labelling, Inspection, Matching and Final packaging
Qualifications:
Requirements:
Able to speak, read and write English
Have basic knowledge of computers or tablets
Sewing Operators must be able to stand for full shift
Non-Sewing Operators must be able to stand/walk for full shift
Able to assist in team lifting of approximately 30 pounds
Strong organization skills and high attention to detail
Preferred:
Sewing machine operation/Stitching experience is preferred
Previous experience in Quality Control and Inspection desired
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
