Silver Star Construction, a local road construction company - is seeking Asphalt Plant Groundman to perform ground operations, such as greasing equipment, general laboring, equipment operation, and routine maintenance in and around the asphalt plant.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance and repairs
Operate heavy equipment such as bob cat, skid steer, man lift, water truck, and haul truck
Pre and post inspections with proper documentation
Perform upkeep of the plant
Groundman Skills:
Communication- asphalt groundman work in a collaborative environment, which requires strong verbal communication skills
Time-management - asphalt groundman use time-management skills to perform many tasks within a day and maintain maintenance and repairs in order to keep the plant running
Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly
Qualifications:
Must have a good driving record
Must pass the background check, drug screen/physical
Must be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
Must be able to work nights and weekends when necessary
Must be able to work overtime when required
Must be able to perform manual tasks in a safe manner, such as shoveling, sweeping, and jackhammer operation
Must adhere to safety requirements and procedures
