I built this Fender Champ Clone as a prototype and control subject for designing and building modified clones.
It has around 10 hours of usage where we played and listened to it, and then played and listened to a second one that had been modified.
The components on the turret card are nearly identical to the ones in the original Fender Champ.
The tubes, speaker, hardware, and cabinet are of the highest quality and in some cases superior to the original Champ.
(We duplicated all of that on the modified clones.
)
These Class-A amplifiers have some of the sweetest tone, especially with single coil guitars.
They tend to be a bit dark for double-coil guitars and so I use an EQ pedal to boost the highs.
My Nash T-52 with Lollar pickups plugged directly into the map sounds absolutely amazing.
