We are seeking a fulltime Program Manager to support the management and implementation of a 4year grant from the Department of Energy (DoE) designed to develop and deploy an integrated surface methane monitoring and modeling system to rapidly capture methane leaks from the oil and gas production land in Oklahoma.
The candidate's primary responsibility will be managing the timely and budgetcompliant implementation of grantrelated tasks and activities to ensure strong project performance in accordance with federal regulations, university policies and procedures and sponsor requirements.
The candidate will work closely with the project Principal Investigator and collaboratively with project team members, industry partners, government agencies, tribal nations, and other stakeholders to plan, organize, and execute against project requirements; ensure and acquire necessary resources, and coordinate efforts by all parties to facilitate successful delivery of project outcomes.
The individual hired for this position will be responsible for: Establishing and maintaining effective communication channels and protocols.
Responsible for daily program management throughout the program lifecycle.
Aligns deliverables to the program's outcome.
Assesses program effectiveness and identifies areas of improvement.
Developing and tracking project plans to assess progress and ensure alignment with established metrics.
Manages program documentation, data collection, and reporting.
Develops program goals and objectives.
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Coordinating and facilitating continued activity planning, management, and evaluation.
Identifying and resolving issues with interdependent timelines, priorities, and resources.
Coordinating required project meetings.
Ensuring compliance with OU grant policies and DoE grant terms and conditions.
Reporting on project budgets, managing financial objectives, and ensuring costefficiency.
Compiling monthly reports for research leadership, providing comprehensive updates on the status of ongoing research tasks and subprograms; coordinating and overseeing preparation of technical project quarterly and annual reports to the DoE, including data collection and proofreading drafts.
Interfacing with OU research support units as needed.
Job Requirements Required Education: Bachelor's degree, AND: 48 months of program development, program management or related experience.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 96 months of related experience.
Skills: Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff Proficient in Microsoft Office Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines Able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations Able to effectively evaluate projects/programs and produce comprehensive reports Able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively Strong initiative to solve problems Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives Certifications: Valid Driver's License Advertised Physical/Environmental Requirements: Ability to engage in repetitive motions.
Standard Office Environment.
Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.
May be required to travel.
May require contact with other departments and university officials.
Departmental Preferences: Experience working in an institution of higher education Proficient in the University's financial report and travel management systems Experience in managing or implementing grantfunded projects or universitybased programs.
Master's degree or equivalent extensive project management experience.
