Serves as a liaison between the law library and law faculty, ensuring their informational and research needs are proactively met.
Facilitate faculty awareness and access to library resources and services.
On an as needed basis, provide reference and research services to library patrons to include answering questions at the public reference desk and responding to faculty and student requests submitted in person, by email or via other forums.
* Teach a section of the required 1L legal research course and provide guest lectures on legal research in other law school courses.
* Manage the law library's social media presence and develop and implement strategies for promotion of the library's services.
* Develop and implement strategies for Law Center faculty, staff, student, and associated professionals' scholarship promotion through a coordinated and engaging Law Center and University stakeholders through multiple communication channels and events.
* Enhance the library's visibility and engagement within the law school and broader legal community in Oklahoma and nationally.
* Coordinate outreach activities, including workshops, seminars, and events that highlight library services and resources and Law Center related scholarship.
* Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the library's role in the legal education and research community.
* Working with the Director of Technology Innovation, support the College's Digital Initiative by engaging with Law Center faculty, staff, student, and associated professionals through coordinating the operational and promotional aspects of new initiatives for the OU Law Center for Technology & Innovation in Practice.
* Participate in conferences related to law librarianship, legal research instruction and the use of innovative legal technology.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements--- *Required Education and Experience:* Master's degree in any subject area, *AND:* * 12 months of related academic experience.
*Skills:* * Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative.
* Strong user-service orientation.
* Demonstrated aptitude in the use of social media and other platforms for promotion and outreach.
* Demonstrated aptitude in the use of print and online research sources including Westlaw, Lexis+, Bloomberg Law, and other online legal resources.
* Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
* Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
* Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
*Advertised Physical and Environmental Requirements:* * Ability to lift, bend, stoop, carry and climb * Ability to engage in repetitive motions * Required travel to professional conferences * Frequent exposure to interruptions * Requires contact with other departments and university officials *Departmental Preferences:* * Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school * Master's in Library or Information Science from an ALA-accredited school OR equivalent library experience and education.
* Law Library, reference and/or teaching experience * Certification in Microsoft Office or other technology solutions.
