This position supports student recruitment, admissions, and retention.
It also helps to coordinate recruitment, events, organize the review of student applications and training of faculty for application review, assists with course scheduling, coordinate the student scholarship application and awarding process, ensure all graduate faculty members have graduate faculty status, and helps to ensure all required undergraduate and graduate student forms and deadlines are met.
Duties include: Oversee the graduate admissions process by disseminating admission information, maintaining regular communication with applicants, and analyzing admission data to update and inform the administrators.
Maintain and update student records and database.
Responsible for analyzing trends in the student recruitment and retention process to inform decisions around the creation of the class schedule.
Comply with university schedule change notifications.
UG admissions lead: liaison between SOSWK and the Graduate College Admissions Office.
Develop and deliver training and support for faculty review of admissions.
Assist coordinators with petitions or special correspondence to deans.
Meet with prospective undergraduate and graduate students in person, by phone and zoom.
Handle undergraduate and graduate student enrollment needs to determine how to best assist the individual while maintaining fairness to other students and faculty load.
Advise current students regarding educational opportunities and options and policies and procedures.
Coordinate orientation and enrollment sessions.
Coordinate, establish and deliver some programs for recruitment, open houses, orientations and other student events.
Manage communication to current students, prospective students and external stakeholders: informational items, deadlines, enrollment, program changes and events.
Communicate and interpret university deadlines and requirements to students.
Advise undergraduate students each semester for enrollment requirements.
Work with Grad/UG Coordinator to coordinate course schedule.
Develop and maintain systems for graduate and undergraduate scholarships.
Communicate with current and prospective students regarding financial aid opportunities.
Manage student scholarship applications.
Job Requirements Required Education: Bachelor's Degree, AND: 12 months of related experience.
Equivalency Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the bachelor's degree for a total of 60 months of related experience.
Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Basic math skills Computer skills, including proficiency in navigating and maintaining databases.
Some travel required for recruiting.
Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
Highly organized and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
Ability to communicate well and build rapport with students, faculty and staff.
Ability to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations.
Customer service skills.
Certifications: None Advertised Physical Requirements: Ability to bend, lift, stoop and carry.
Ability to engage in repetitive motions.
Standard office environment.
Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.
May be required to travel.
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
Requires contact with other departments and university officials.
Willingness to work extended and weekend hours during peak periods.
Departmental Preferences: Experience with Higher Education.
Experience in recruitment.
