00 Job Description COUNCIL ON LAW ENFORCEMENT EDUCATION AND TRAINING JOB TITLE: FIELD REPRESENTATIVE-SW Job Summary: Under general supervision, schedule, facilitate and oversee continuing education programs, basic reserve officer academies, Collegiate Officer Programs, and basic peace officer certification program academies.
May be required to coordinate offsite full-time basic law enforcement academy.
Instruct specialized continuing education courses.
Conduct investigations relating to compliance matters for licensing, certification and training.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Description of Tasks: This position represents CLEET as liaison for assistance and services to law enforcement, local government, and the general population.
Assignments will require extensive travel and evening hours, adjusting the workweek accordingly.
Field Representatives develop course outlines and reference materials for various courses of instruction in the basic, advanced and specialized law enforcement schools; assists in developing, writing, and modifying curriculum for training programs within the state; Instructs various subjects in advanced and specialized continuing education courses and may assist in basic full-time law enforcement academy instruction; facilitates continuing education programs and reserve academies, including preparing, copying and distributing materials, and regular/special reports of activity for those programs; investigates violations of state laws, makes arrests, conducts surveillance of persons or targeted locations/establishments concerning suspected violations; and completes other job-related tasks as prescribed by Supervisor, Assistant Director or Director.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge and experience in a broad range of law enforcement duties.
Must possess knowledge of classroom teaching techniques, use of classroom equipment, and be knowledgeable in all phases of law enforcement training.
Skilled in conducting several projects simultaneously, in establishing and maintaining satisfactory and effective working relationships with others, and in organizing and presenting facts and opinions clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of investigative principles and techniques, Oklahoma criminal law, CLEET rules and regulations, rules pertaining to search and seizure, arrest, and evidence, recent court decisions affecting law enforcement, the Oklahoma Administrative Code and Register, basic math, English, grammar and sentence structure, and of the operation of computers/computer software.
Education and Experience: Must possess a CLEET Peace Officer certification or be eligible for Certification through Reciprocity.
This position requires the possession of a valid Oklahoma driver license.
Minimum four years experience in law enforcement with at least two years experience as an Instructor and an investigator.
Possession of a Basic Instructor Development certificate (BID), or comparable instructor certification as allowed by CLEET.
A Bachelors degree in a Criminal Justice related field and experience in law enforcement supervision or management is desired, but not required.
Requirements: Applicants may be required to live within one of the CLEET regions or agree to relocate within the designated region upon employment.
Home residence may be considered duty station.
Commissioned employees will be required to pass a peace officer background investigation as defined in 70 OS §3311E.
Physical Requirements: The job may require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, long periods of standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, and hearing.
May be required to lift objects weighing up to or more than 50 pounds.
The Field Representative position is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions including but not limited to noise, wind, rain, sun, pollen, ice and snow.
