Arbuckle Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Sulphur, Oklahoma.
Boasting a new hospital in 2011, AMH has a 24-hour emergency room, which is staffed by ER physicians and designated as a Level IV Trauma Center.
The hospital serves over 12,000 patients annually.
AMH treats over 7,000 emergencies each year including heart attack and stroke patients.
The hospital has four admitting physicians including three employed physicians and a contractor.
Additionally, AMH operates a full-service clinic on campus, which as 15 exam rooms, two physicians, and three nurse practitioners.
Clinic hours are 7am to 7pm, Monday to Thursday and 7am to 5pm on Friday.
The hospital is supported by a one cent county sales tax.
THIS IS FOR FRIDAYS, SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS 12 HOUR SHIFTS.
Arbuckle Memorial Hospital has determined this is a safety-sensitive position.
The task or duties assigned to this job could affect the safety and health of the employee or others.
Summary: Collects Blood from patients in hospital following established standards.
Assumes responsibility for the safety and comfort of the patient during the venipuncture process and quality of samples obtained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Assembles equipment such as tourniquet, needles, disposable containers for needles, blood collection devices, gauze, cotton and alcohol on work tray according to requirements for specified tests or procedures.
Verifies or records identity of patient or donor and converses with patient or donor to allay fear of procedure.
Applies tourniquet to arm, locates accessible vein, swabs puncture area with antiseptic, and inserts needle into vein to draw blood into collection tube.
Withdraws needle, applies treatment to puncture site, and labels and stores blood container for subsequent processing.
Pricks finger or heel to draw blood.
Maintains inventory of phlebotomy supplies.
Maintains cleanliness of drawing room/station.

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge or Laboratory Information System order processing systems Education, Certificates, Licenses and Registrations High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); previous phlebotomy experience desired.
One to three months related experience and/or training.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid driver’s license.
Phlebotomy certification from a nationally recognized board will be expected to be obtained if not already acquired.
