Purpose & Scope:
Responsible for all areas relating to cost accounting reporting, fixed asset accounting, and assist in all other accounting activities including month-end close, new product pricing, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and budget and forecast activities.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses according to GAAP.
Investigate variances and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
Maintain the cost account system, ensuring accurately reported cost of goods sold, inventory, and all other related standard cost activities.
Perform accounting and financial analysis for manufacturing cost-related activities, including variance analysis between actual costs and standard costs and identification and investigation of operational variances.
Perform month-end and year-end closing processes.
Help support the development of new price quotes for new potential business, and project cost tracking for new business won.
Prepare, analyze, and/or review balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure accurate fixed asset accounting, maintaining accurate listing of all equipment, provide timely reconciliations, depreciation, and property tax accounting, as well as tracking all new capital spending.
Participate in strategic planning, fraud prevention, and financial budgeting and forecasting.
Plan and perform the annual setting of standard cost for inventory, working closely with supply chain, operations establishing accurate material cost, BOMs, and routings.
Quantitative Dimensions:
Supports all local affiliate departments as client groups and works with regional departments.
Maintains local cost accounting and fixed asset ERP system.
Organizational Context:
Reports to Senior Manager Accounting.
No direct reports.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 3 to 7 years’ experience.
In-depth knowledge of accounting process flow, components of the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow.
Clear understanding of US GAAP and other accounting governance.
Demonstrate clear logical thinking, decision making, and strong problem solving skills.
Demonstrate excellent organizational, analytical, and verbal and written communication skills.
Must be proficient with user applications, such as MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook.
Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
Must be able to read, write and understand the English language (statement common to all job descriptions).
Must be able to work to meet deadlines and use problem solving skills.
Must be able to gather and evaluate complex data to make effective decisions to accomplish work.
Requires ability to accurately perform mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Working in a fast-paced office setting with a minimal lifting requirement of ten pounds.
Preferred:
CPA or CMA certification.
Cost accounting experience.
Experience with ERP(SAP) software.
