Performing diverse clerical and accounting tasks following established standards.
This specific position is responsible for accounts payable, receivable and billing.
Reconciles multiple statements of accounts to departmental book balance.
Prepares financial reports and conducts cost analysis.
Closes out income accounts.
Helps maintain financial statements.
Gathers data for preparation of management reports.
Investigates problems and responds to financial inquiries.
Maintains filing systems and accounting records.
Monitors various accounts to ensure accuracy.
Responsible for maintaining a large amount of data to include but not limited to expenditures and allowances.
Performs various duties as needed in order to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Job Requirements
Required Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED AND:
12 months accounting/bookkeeping experience
Skills:
Proficient navigating and maintaining databases
Knowledge of standard bookkeeping and accounting procedures
Advanced excel skills with ability to build and manipulate spreadsheets
Cash handling
Proficiency with accounting or billing software
Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English
Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
Strong initiative to solve problems
Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
Certifications: None

Departmental Preferences:
3648 months accounting bookkeeping experience
Extensive experience in account reconciliation
Office management experience
